About Me

My name is

HEATHER CHIANG

and I am an

INTERACTION DESIGNER.

I have been an User Experience Designer at IBM Interactive for 3 years, creating quality websites, mock-ups, and media contents. In 2008, I graduated from Simon Fraser Univesity School of Interactive Arts and Technology, with a Bachelor of Science in Interaction Design and a minor in Computing Science. This website showcases a selection of projects from my work and studies.

In 2006, I worked as an Interaction Designer at Reserach In Motion on a 8-month co-op term, designing interfaces for BlackBerry and researching competitive devices. In 2007, I was selected for the SFU Italy Design Field School, during which I traveled through Rome, Florence, Tuscany, and Milan with a group of 12, interviewing 13 renowned architects and designers. The next year, I was accepted to the Torino World Design Capital Summer School, which brought me to Torino, Italy for a week-long design workshop with a theme on creating Safe and Open Spaces. During this time I also worked at IBM Interactive on another 8-month co-op term.

I love interaction design because a well designed website, space, or product can deliver such joy and simplicity to those who interact with it. I am skilled in user experience and I strive to bring this quality to every project I touch.
